My name is Michel van Beek. Currently, I am working as Voiceworks’ Change & Problem Management Engineer in the Technical Operations department. One of my main tasks is the supervision of maintenance work carried out on Voiceworks’ network, servers or services. When a department needs to perform maintenance, I plan the various steps necessary to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum.
I am also responsible for Problem Management. This means that I evaluate events within the organisation to determine any potential risk to the continuity of the costumers’ services. I am also responsible for Vendor Management; which means that I oversee the Service level agreement (SLA)/reports of all our suppliers at an operational level. I currently also co-manage office automation. I enjoy the diversity within my work; every day is different. The atmosphere in my department is relaxed and social, helping us to work together as a team.
The Technical Operations department
Within the Technical Operations department, we me maintain and support the ICT infrastructure, network and mobile infrastructure. We also collaborate on projects related to introducing new services. The Technical Operations department is divided into a number of subdivisions: Network Operations, Voice Operations; Mobile Operations, System Operations; Change, Problem & Vendor Management and Datacentre Operations.
